Why a 40ft used container

A 40ft container gives about 300 square feet of floor, twice a 20ft, and costs much less per square foot. Farms, contractors and businesses use them for stock, equipment and materials that need a dry, lockable space. This listing is standard height, 8’6″ outside. If you need to stack racking or store tall items, the 40ft high cube used adds one foot for a small extra cost.

Cargo worthy means the structure, floor and doors are sound and the box is wind and watertight. Expect dents, surface rust and old markings. The grades are explained on used shipping containers.

Check before you pay

Ask for photos of the actual unit. Inside, close the doors and look for daylight in the roof and walls. Test both doors, the locking bars and the seals, and walk the full length of the floor for soft spots. Look under the container at the cross members. The size code on the doors should read 42G1 for a standard 40ft.
