What premium grade means

Premium grade is a sales grade, not an industry standard. Suppliers use it for the best used containers in a depot: younger units with fewer dents, less rust and paint in good order. They are cargo worthy underneath, so the structure, floor and doors are sound and the box is wind and watertight.

Because each supplier defines premium a little differently, ask for photos of the actual unit before you pay. Premium grade suits buyers who want a used price but a container that looks tidy on a home lot, a storefront or a farm yard. For the lowest price compare the cargo worthy high cube, for as-new condition the one-trip high cube.

Check before you pay

Ask the supplier how they define premium and for photos of the unit you will get, including the roof and floor. Check the CSC plate for the build year and the size code 45G1. Test both doors, the locking bars and the seals.
